Bio
Born in the quaint city of Shengjin, Albania, Xhuliano Ujka's journey is one of resilience and passion. Growing up amidst the backdrop of a civil war, he encountered challenges that would shape his artistic spirit. At the tender age of 4, Xhuliano's life took an unexpected turn, leading him to become a refugee—an experience that would later infuse his art with depth and empathy.
From an early age, the stage beckoned to him, igniting a love for performance that burned brightly within his heart. As a child, he discovered his natural inclination for dancing, a talent that would serve as a foundation for his future creative endeavors.
Intriguingly, the seeds of Xhuliano's versatility were sown during his teenage years. At the age of 14, he stumbled upon the world of modeling, unveiling yet another facet of his multifaceted identity. However, it was at 17 that Xhuliano truly marked his artistic prowess by writing, producing, and directing his very first movie—an accomplishment that showcased not only his creativity but also his profound self-awareness.
"I grew up with the purpose of being useful to the community, inspired by my mother's dedication to caring for people wounded during the war. She often put herself in danger, drawing strength from the knowledge that she was making a positive impact. This experience instilled in me, from a young age, a profound understanding of life's priorities." - Xhuliano on community spirit"
“Suddenly, I found myself alone, grappling with an overwhelming torrent of emotions within. All my friends seemed to fade away, and I found myself becoming the person who stood apart, the one who was seen as different. And that in a weird me gave me the freedom to really be it. Walk the dark alleys of my head and see how far I can go. And that made me feel good. Made me feel” -Xhuliano on self-harming
Having emerged from a period of darkness and having witnessed the multifaceted nature of the city, Xhuliano became acutely aware of the prevalent drug issue among his generation. Recognizing the lack of resources for those seeking help, even at the tender age of 17, he made the courageous decision to expose these challenges. He embarked on a journey of self-expression, crafting, producing, and directing his inaugural film—an autobiography that would serve as a platform for his message.
" I knew that I had to do it as soon as I saw myself capable again of dealing with prejudice and judgments, I knew that I had to start a discussion about this problem "
The film resonated deeply with audiences, earning a prestigious premiere at the city's main theater. The screenings ran throughout the day, drawing full audiences for the initial three days, commencing on December 1, 2010. For the first time in a while, Xhuliano experienced a sense of purposeagain. He realized that his own experiences could be harnessed to assist others in need. Titled "Vrasesi i heshtur" (Silent Killer), the film not only rekindled his artistic flame but also reawakened his dormant passion for acting.
Guided by determination and fueled by a talent-based scholarship, Xhuliano embarked on a transformative journey. He ventured to the bustling city of Los Angeles, where he immersed himself in a year-long conservatory program at the New York Film Academy. This rigorous training paved the way for his membership in The Groundlings, a renowned improvisational and sketch comedy troupe.
Xhuliano's arrival in Los Angeles marked the beginning of a promising chapter. His debut in the industry came with a role in the medium-budget film "Beverly Hills Christmas," which coincidentally aired on December 24, 2015—also Xhuliano's birthday. His next venture, "Trip House," centered around a doctor treating the disillusioned souls of Hollywood with dangerous substances. In this project, he portrayed a character who lost his way while chasing dreams in the city of angels.
